Info Session
Dr. Lee's Information Session is offered twice per month in the main classrooms, level 1, at Oro Valley Hospital. She offers two free sessions per month, one on a Saturday morning and one on a Tuesday evening. The session lasts approximately 1 hour and focuses on obesity, treatment options, surgical weight loss options, and specifically the Lap-Band® System. She details advantages, disadvantages, risks, benefits, and complications. She also discusses some details of the surgery as well as the preparation before surgery and success after surgery. Dr. Lee then answers questions. Attendance at an information session is mandatory prior to a personal consultation with Dr. Lee. Family and support system attendance is also highly encouraged! Consultation
A personal consultation with Dr. Lee in her office is the next step, and can be scheduled by calling her office staff at 520-797-3000. At this appointment, you and Dr. Lee will discuss your personal medical and surgical history as well as your struggle with obesity in detail. While the informational session gives you a chance to decide if weight loss surgery, particularly the Lap-Band® System surgery, is possibly right for you, the consultation will focus in on this decision taking into account your personal story. You will also be shown an actual Lap-Band® and gain further insight into what the procedure entails and what lifestyle changes are expected. Again, family and/or support system attendance is encouraged– they may be valuable helpers in making a decision and asking questions. Please plan on spending one hour with Dr. Lee and her staff. In the "Patient Forms" section of the website, you can obtain the forms that you will need to fill out for your consultation under "Lap-Band Patient Forms". Either fill these out at home in preparation for your visit, or plan on arriving 15 minutes before your appointment to do so in the office.

Support Group
Before surgery, after surgery, and even for those who decide NOT to have surgery, we welcome all into our monthly support group, called "Weigh to Go!". The Oro Valley Surgical Weight Loss Nurse Coordinator and Dr. Lee organize excellent programs, such as a protein shake "taste test" session with instructions on reading labels, fitness topics, eating tips, plastic surgery information, psychological well-being talks, etc. The support group also offers a chance for people at various stages in the weight loss surgery journey to support one another. Questions are asked in a supportive environment and answered. Support group attendance is mandatory at least once prior to surgery and for one year thereafter for all participants in our program. They are held the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month at 6:30 pm and last approximately 1 hour. Again, the sessions are held in the Oro Valley Hospital classrooms, level 1. Please see address above.
